[issue509] symlinks converted to directories

After running the attached script, '2/asm' is a directory (and trying to create
'2/asm' as a symlink will fail). In fact, hg treats asm/yes as a completely
different file from foo/yes.

I think it would be better if hg noticed that 'asm' was a symlink at commit time.
