Well, actually I wrote that code with Matt's support, I discussed about
its inclusion in crew with djc days ago and I thought it was about to be
committed. That's why I'm distributing a separated patch and note that
I'm doing the same thing with ancestry.patch.

The reason why it should be included is very simple: it does a quite
common job and it is optimized to do it.
