Someone working on a multi-user system might not want to turn on this 
option. Most developers I know of use a laptop or private workstation 
for primary development, though. And the settings copy would be subject 
to the normal security checks - a different user would normally not 
trust your hgrc to begin with.

I doubt this RFE can be combined with Glenn's work (the purpose of which 
I do not exactly understand). Matt made the suggestion that a post-clone 
hook in the origin repository would be the right implementation, which 
makes sense - it would be triggered only during a local clone by the 
same user ID.
