[issue1231] command prompt window shuts down immediately in WindowsXP

New submission from paulcj2 <paulc at clickbasics.com>:

1) I installed Windows binary v1.0.1 from:
http://mercurial.berkwood.com/
2) testing from the Windows command line with "hg,"
3) the prompt window opened briefly and then immediate closed.
4) I tried several other commands including "hg version." Same thing.
5) So I uninstalled and re-installed v1.0
6) Same reslt.
Please advise next step
