Ok I never had in mind anything much more complex than svn:externals,  
which is an important use case for me to allow efficient clones of  
complex trees, optionally on a fixed branch or rev.

Could you describe what you'd want done with csets and at checkin  
time? A full snapshotting of the tree?

I have to run but I'll be on IRC tonight (European time).
