[issue1046] traceback at hg pull and strange revision by hg diff

Hi

I got some strange behaviour today 

hg diff 
abort: unknown revision '#w��J/�Ƥz�/���['!

hg pull gives a traceback

at the time I tried to redirect to a file the problem seems to vanish

now hg diff seems to work too.

If there is some local file corrupion involed I don't understand why the
traceback is not reproducable or why the clone seems to recover.

Nevertheless I do work with a new clone now.
