Yes, that was just what I meant to do. Currently I can't imagine a different
way, the goal is obviously find out whether the same changes are going to
be applied or not.

It's my intention to investigate how git works, but I guess it does 
something
similar. In fact, it detects redundant patches even if the commit 
metadatas (e.g.
timestamp, username etc...) differ.
