[issue1317] Repository corruption: unknown compression type '\x98'

We created a repository on NFS to make integrations for a team of ~10 developers
within a single virtual private network.

After a few integrations it got corrupted. Here is the output of hg check:

104397: unpacking changeset: unknown compression type '\x98'
checking manifests
crosschecking files in changesets and manifests
abort: 00manifest.i at 13b646add003: no node! 

Unfortunately I'm not able to reproduce this.
