Strange caracter encoding

Hello crew,
I did commit a Brazilian Portuguese translation but I'm having problems in
the character encoding
in my windows box, the mac one works just fine.

The console output for the string "diretório" came as "diret≤rio", anyone
knows what i need to do
to solve this.
