No, I've checked it only with binaries.

You are right, they aren't the same.

Anyhow, I'm still unable to accept that it is alright that 'hg
import'-ing a patch obtained by 'hg export' can result in a different
changeset without even a single warning during the process using the
default settings.
I think users can too easily get burned by this.
