The only hard limit you're likely to reach is on the size of single
files, which is currently 2G. Other limits are as follows:

Number of files: as many as you can list in a 2G manifest (> 10 million)
Number of revisions: ~ 4 billion
Size of individual revlogs: 280 terabytes
