[issue1525] reduced memory usage for cvsps

I'm trying to convert a huge cvs repository, and though I have 2 GiB memory, my
box begins swapping for cvsps while it is still in the preprocessing. Naturally
that makes it slow down to a crawl, so I have little chance of ever completing
the conversion. 

So it would be great, if cvsps could be configured to use as little memory as
possible, especially since I will need to regularly update my mirror. 

The repository in question is http://anoncvs.gentoo.org/ and can be checked out
via 

cvs -d :pserver:anonymous at anoncvs.gentoo.org/var/cvsroot co gentoo-x86
