git(hub) mirror of hg-stable?

Inspired by a comment on Reddit, I decided to put hg-git through its
paces and see if it could handle the hg-stable repository.
It took a while (apparently when pushing to a local git repo it still
converts changesets into individual packets...) but it seems to have
worked fine. The commits all converted fine and cloning (with git)
and building succeeds.
I'm curious if anyone else thinks keeping a git mirror (probably on
GitHub, since it seems to be the hot place in the git world) of hg-
stable would be a good idea. It wouldn't take much effort, and it
would make it easier for current git users to try out (and possibly
switch to) Mercurial.
