I had already privately reviewed Greg's code. The code looks correct, 
and when I spotted something unusual Greg not only pointed out that it 
was right, he also added a testcase for it.

Greg's also running some large test conversions which is really the only 
way to verify this is correct.

So I'm happy for this to go in.
