Given the ability of bzr folks to release new formats, I am not sure this is an advantage. I am a bit worried about storing tarballs that bzr versions would be unable to read. I don't know whether they deprecate storage format (and force people to upgrade them). So the question is really: is there a stable bzr repository archival format, like mercurial bundles?
