Please note that this is meant to be read as "100% compatible with
Mercurial's repo layout", as it obviously won't work with Mercurial
extensions that haven't been rewritten in Ruby and so on. Hopefully the
authors are paying attention to the mercurial-devel list and will pick
up on any bugs that might affect compatibility/reliability.

I frankly find it baffling. That's an awful lot of work just to be able
to directly interface with Mercurial from Ruby. Life is short, use
system().
