After the discussion about line-ending conversion, I believe the newline
character '\n' is normally called LF (linefeed) :-)

I've fixed fix that in the commit message and pushed to crew-stable
(revision f01a22096f1f) so that we can get one step closer to a passing
test suite on Solaris.
