Finally done in 57d682d7d2da :-) I've tuned the Makefile to have it
abort on errors in gendoc.py and added a test-gendoc test that will
check gendoc.py and parse the generated reST code (if you have
rst2html{,.py} available).

Cédric, if I remember correctly, you still have a set of unapplied
patches waiting, right?
