Translating debug output? (was: [PATCH] httprepo: make sure we have auth before sending large bundles)

this should either be "authorization" or ... to ensure/verify
credentials are valid/will be accepted

also, people tend to try to manually translate errors back to english
before reporting, which makes things even worse.
