This is one of the problems with using 'auth'; it's ambiguous whether it means
authentication or authorization. I also think that 'auth' is sometimes used by
writers when they're not sure which word to use.
In this case it sounds like the code is testing to see whether a push will be
accepted. It could be that the user is known (authenticated) but is not allowed
to do a push (not authorized). So this sounds like a test of authorization to me.
In any case I think it makes sense to leave debug messages untranslated.
