Hi there,

First of all, I'd like to thank you all for accepting my proposal. I'd also
like to say that I'm very excited with the opportunity of tackling this
humongous task. :)

I'm going to be mentored by Brodie, and have also exchanged an email with him,
where he gave me some pointers to information I will need.

During this community bonding project I intend to review my proposal, get to
know mercurial's code better and to discuss the ways of implementing this task
on the list. You can find my proposal at
http://mercurial.selenic.com/wiki/RenatoCunha

Some questions arised while you reviewed my proposal, they were mostly related
to the ways of tackling the problem, they are:

1. Implementing a Python 3-only version.
2. Making a 2.6 (2.7) and 3.x compatible version;
3. Implementing an abstraction layer that maintains mercurial compatible to all
the currently supported versions, plus 3.x.

The people who commented on the proposal preferred option #3. I'd like to know
your opinions while I experiment a little bit with those approaches. So, feel
free to comment on the idea. (I know option #3 looks like the best one, what
worries a bit is whether it is possible to finish it by the end of August.)

About myself, I'm currently a master's student of Computer Sciente @ UFMG,
Brazil. I'm currently finishing the text of my master's thesis, and should
submit it shortly, hence my little delay in contacting you. Hopefully, I'll be
able to breathe again during the next week. :)

Regards,
