It would work better if we weren't using variable width time formats.

The natural format would be --:--, but if you're likely to go from
that to 2s, then it's too jumpy. This was part of the reason that I
tried to do HhMM or MmSS it was closer to an --:-- format (although I
didn't stick that format in).

I'll have to think about what other possible formats are available.

Perhaps ??min or something
