Uhm... mq uses a modified version of _branchtags. I didn't look into it but
I thought it worked.
As I said, in rebase I use specific information to not recalculate
everything and that function
can hardly be extended for mq/strip.

I could write a different version suitable for both, but I need to
understand what's wrong in mq.
