[issue1978] install on Snow Leopard (10.6) gives me a stacktrace

First time user here, just installed latest package:  
http://mercurial.berkwood.com/binaries/Mercurial-1.4.2-py2.6-macosx10.6.zip

when I run the following command I get a stracktrace (attached):

hg clone http://chirpradio.googlecode.com/hg/ chirpradio

TypeError: '_demandmod' object is not iterable

Using /usr/bin/python @ 2.6.1
