I considered that. This makes sense in analogy with skin grafts and
such, but when talking about tree-like things, 'grafting' generally
involves cutting off entire stems and attaching them to another plant
(like what rebase does). So I think this name is misleading.

How about 'adapt'? 

Note that all of this is less about selecting which changesets to work
on ('cherrypicking') and focusing more on what we do with them ('adapt
or port or transplant them from one branch to another').
