[issue2290] Patchbomb may not handle EOL issues well

New submission from Dan Villiom Podlaski Christiansen <danchr at gmail.com>:

When sending a patch that only changes line endings using the ‘email’
extension, the line endings may not survive the SMTP/IMAP/MUA roundtrip. This
was seen in a mail to the hgsubversion list.[1]

I tried downloading the raw message source from the Google Groups archive, and
it appeared to have the correct (mixed) line endings. It's not unlikely that
Apple Mail is to blame for this; it was used for extracting the mail, but not
for sending it. That being said, perhaps it's too much to expect of MUA's that
they pass through line endings unmodified?
