[issue2310] First name character missing for path wildcards without prefix

Laurens Holst bugs at mercurial.selenic.com

New submission from Laurens Holst <laurens.nospam at grauw.nl>:

when I have "something = **" in the hgweb.config paths section, the first
character of the resulting names gets stripped from the name. This shows up
in e.g. the repository overview and corresponding paths.

A workaround for the issue is to use a path like ../repos/**.

I’m a bit confused as test-hgwebdir does seem to test for this (see star=*
and starstar=**), however when I make my own test (attached) I can reproduce it.

I can reproduce this in Mercurial 1.5 (CentOS 5.5), Mercurial 1.5.3 (Ubuntu
10.04) and Mercurial 1.6 (Ubuntu 10.04).
