There are basically no feature schedules around here, only release
schedules. I have no ability to schedule anyone's time but my own and
most of my time is devoted to helping other developers.

So it'll happen when someone implements it. As this feature doesn't
really demand my expertise and that expertise is badly needed in lots of
other places, that someone will probably not be me. Hence "volunteers
needed". 

Since you're one of the few people who's expressed an interest in this
feature but seem to have no interest in actually working on it, it may
not happen at all. So it goes.
