Err, that's a bit of a stretch. I understand the *problem* very well,
and I am very familiar with the accepted workaround
(contrib/shrink-revlog.py).  As for understanding the solution...
well, given a couple of weeks I could probably come up with a totally
incompatible hack to revlog that does what I need.  But handling all
the compatibility issues is way outside of my comfort zone right now.

That said, I'll be happy to test out any patches Pradeepkumar comes up with.
