Perhaps »simple« would be more appropriate? Here's my suggestion:

   Start an embedded HTTP server for simple sharing of a repository.
   For more advanced usage, where features such as authentication
   and SSL encryption may be required, a real web server is
   recommended. In addition, such servers often perform much better
   under heavy load.
