I actually like the idea of using "+". It is easy to remember and to me it
kind of implies the idea that the "working directory" may contain changes
that may be added to the repository via a commit.
Maybe a good compromise would be to have a "shorthand" shortcut ("+") and a
"long shortcut name" such as "workdir" or something like that?
Also, if a "long" shortcut is used, shouldn't it begin with some sort of
special character to ensure that it does not collide with an existing tag
name?
