attic extension broken by updatedir move in hg 1.7+

Not abandoned per say, but I have just been very busy IRL and haven't 
had the proper time necessary for it. I have 7 patches to apply and push 
out there and haven't tested against hg since about 1.5 (the version I 
am currently using).
