I can't think of how to detect the distro, but manual.dat could have
a pattern mapping Linux, BSD, Solaris, etc (or just X11) browsers to
one or more longer unix help pages, instead of to a binary build.  Or
sources.js could be augmented within the website code, without pushing
more .dat files through sources.js.

I can take a stab at this if people agree on what approach is wanted.
