[issue2443] NTLM support on windows

Lack of NTLM support would be a very nice to have feature as it would allow us 
not to use HTTPS which we have to use otherwise for authentication. Especially 
in the case of large data sets it is desired when pure file shares in windows 
environments are not an option.
