As I wrote in the part of my mail that was not quoted: It was a
"private hack" and was never shipped or suggested in the wiki.

Message-ID <20625207.post at talk.nabble.com> mentioned in 2008 on the
general list that he uses it, and I found one additional user
(http://devel.opensaf.org/~hafe/hg/opensaf-uml) via Google, but I
found no other indication that anyone else does.

I thought I remembered more and therefore expected more, maybe
everyone needing a similar feature implemented the directory
traversal himself.

I would say: case dismissed.
