Hi,

I’m currently planning to edit the Russian translation according to the
coordinated vocabulary [1].

Current maintainer of the Russian translation (Alexander Sauta) has been
explicitly notified of the vocabulary, first in private message (July 13,
2011), second in public mailing list [2]. Alas, he didn’t send any actual
suggestions/objections so far.

The vocabulary has been discussed by all interested parties from 15 to 22 of
November, 2011, in the follow-ups to the message [3]. During that, the
vocabulary has been edited according to suggestions received. The result of
the discussion was consensus.

What’s next?

Editing period would require 2-3 days of exclusive access to the message
catalog. Not so long, because the editing is mostly automatic, followed by
small amount of manual corrections.

Editing would likely interfere your pending translation work. To avoid
merging conflicts on your side, you should commit all your work performed so
far, before the date to be announced as the start of editing process.
Currently the start date is tomorrow, December 9, 2011.

You’ll be able to restart your translation upon the editing is complete,
using the edited message catalog. From that time, you should use a new
coordinated vocabulary while performing your translation.
