[PATCH 0 of 7] http proxy and certificate checking

HTTPS certificates are currently not checked at all when connecting through a
HTTP proxy.

To do that we have to mess with Pythons urllib2 and its fragile ssl and proxy
handling - and our own url.py and keepalive.py. There is no doubt it will
introduce some bugs, but we could perhaps try to do it for 1.8 and fix or
accept the new or old bugs it will reveal.

These changes will in best case improve the situation with Python 2.6.3+ and
not make it worse with earlier versions.
