I'm not sure what you want to tell us by the term "to-ing and fro-ing",
but insisting on your original patch is indeed no progress.

That won't happen. Patch series are put into correct shape *before* they
are taken.

And it's very unlikely that your patches will make it in in their
current form.

But of course you are free to ignore my comments if you disagree.
