These are rebased on top of the two patches that kill parentdelta and punch/shallow. I also fixed a small bug related to the optimized base path in revision(). pending: has it always been the case that base(rev) == base(base(rev)) for revisions that are at the base of a chain? if not, what other values would it have, -1?
