I think this is a great idea, and that it would be really useful. It
could be used, for example, to automatically mark revisions that pass
an automated regression test, etc.

Actually I even considered trying to create an extension that would do
something similar (I even had thought of a name: "labels"). However I
got "distracted" hacking on tortoisehg so I never got anywhere with
this idea, beyond imagining how it would work.
