I have always wondered about the name of that style, but when I first
used mercurial, it was my preferred style.

And I still think it's a nice style.

For example, I think
http://selenic.com/repo/hg/file/a75e0f4ba0ab?style=gitweb

looks much better than
http://selenic.com/repo/hg/file/a75e0f4ba0ab

so I would regret if that style would be deleted. But I don't care about
the name of that style.
