If there are no semicolons any more it would be easier indeed.

I am not used to "check-code", what does it do?

According to all requests you like to have Windows tests that are generated 'on the fly' during run-tests execution. So that you do not have to maintain two different sets of tests (.t tests and .bat tests). 

Let's say it is possible to convert .t files into files that run on windows during run-tests execution.

What about the output? You still have to maintain two different outputs. 
The converter tool I created takes a .t test as a parameter and returns the corresponding batch file.
Honestly, I am not that familiar with the whole code. Maybe someone comes up with a good idea for a solution.
