[issue2835] web display eats leading spaces in {desc}

When displaying a {desc}, spaces at the beginning of lines are eaten.

For example, a log message such as:
line 1 is not indented
    line 2 is 4-space indented

Will be displayed, on the browser, as:
line 1 is not indented
line 2 is 4-space indented

This is pretty inconvenient when the log message contains code snippets that
are then mostly unreadable.
