What's up with the French translation?

The weird translations are marked fuzzy. This means that they are guesses made by Gettext when updating the PO file.

They wont be used at runtime until the translator double-checks the guesses and approves them by removing the fuzzy mark.

I'm seeing things like:

#, python-format
msgid "abort: %s: %s\n"
msgstr "abandon : %s : %s\n"

This translation has gratuitous formatting changes. Why is that a good
idea? Ok, I guess that's a strict rule of French typography:

https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ponctuation#Traitement_des_espaces_pour_les_symboles_bipoints

But that led me to this:

#, fuzzy, python-format
msgid "parent: %d:%s %s\n"
msgstr "abandon : %s : %s\n"

#, fuzzy, python-format
msgid "branch: %s\n"
msgstr "abandon : %s\n"

And these are obviously wrong, yes?
