Who is using subrepos?

Slow.

But in our case, the subrepo was going to have a lot of large binary files, many of which would not change often (though the tree as a whole would see fairly frequent changes, and thus the revision number would change).  That makes checkout be slooooooooooow.  This was one of the less important of the issues we ran into.
