At work, I have my own repo where I hack on developer tools, Mercurial
extensions, and the like. I use one subrepo there for packaging bfiles
along with all our local extensions. (I used to have two subrepos, but
I've dropped support for attic since nobody at work uses it and it
doesn't support hg 1.9 yet.)

We our *not* using subrepos in our main production repository; we have
one monolithic source tree with ~21,000 source files and 40 developers
pushing to 9-10 server-side clones on 6-8 named branches.

I also have learned how *not* to use subrepos from my "allextensions"
experiment. (Hint: 83 subrepos is too many, especially when you can't
be bothered to make your own clones and just use absolute URLs
pointing all over the Internet. Pushing takes for*ever*.)
