Only if they want to.
For the record, I am strongly against mandatory copyright assignment
policies and you'll never see me contributing to such a project. When
they're not a tool for corporations to betray contributors (see
OpenOffice->ApacheOffice), they're just a pointless barrier to
involvement (see the the SGI GCC fork saga).
Mathematics is the supreme nostalgia of our time.
