[issue3057] Crash when cloning an svn subrepository without svn installed

New submission from Laurens Holst <laurens.nospam at grauw.nl>:

Some user reported on Stack Overflow that if he tries to check out a
repository which has an SVN repository, but he does not have svn installed,
he gets a stack trace:

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7824297/mercurial-hg-update-error-abort-no-such-file-or-directory

This could be handled better, e.g. with an informative error message,
preferably also a way to check out the repository without SVN.
