You are correct that I'm the maintainer of the hg-i18n repo on Bitbucket
and so I look after the internationalization. But please don't write to
me personally: your questions are probably relevant for others as well.
I don't want to answer you in private and then answer someone else next
week and so on...

It's not because I want to be rude -- it's just easier and more
efficient that way. Another example why you should use the list is that
I'm going on vacation tomorrow. I will probably not have much Internet
connection for a week, so your mail could have been lying around here
for a week with no answer.

Yeah, I don't know how much he's worked on it -- you're right that
there's no trace of it in the repo. I've Cc'ed Tovim now.

You basically have to show me that you know how Mercurial and Gettext
works. You do that by making a fork of hg-i18n on Bitbucket and let me
know when you have something to submit.

I'll pull and merge and if it looks good, then I'll give you push access
to the hg-i18n repo so that you can push there directly in the future.
