Of course it's possible! Since 1.9 we have this hidden revset. log complies with it, hgview (qt viewer from logilab) comply with it.

There is no user either in core or  in bundled extension, but I do have an extension that use it for several month and it works like a charm.

We do have this concept in core and this patch is improving his implementation.

You can even expect a patch to ease adding logic to fill it in coming days.

I do not get what you mean by this question about stable.
